My Advocacy
Providing expert legal support and compassionate guidance for those navigating complex workplace challenges. I am dedicated to ensuring every individual feels informed, empowered, and protected by the law.
My Approach
Over 30 years’ employment dispute and negotiation experience, legal knowledge, with a holistic, mana-centred approach.
Former union organiser, now employment advocate, with a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the UoA. I bring practical experience, legal understanding, and a strong drive for resolution. I understand that workplace disputes affect more than your job; they can affect your wellbeing, whānau, income, confidence, and mana. My approach is clear, strategic, responsive, and supportive. I explain your options in plain English, advocate strongly, ensuring you are informed, supported, and empowered.

My Impact
Real stories of empowerment from those who found clarity, strength and justice through my advocacy.
From my very first conversation with Teresa through to a successful outcome at mediation, I felt truly supported, heard,
and advocated for.
She took the time to understand my situation, offered clear and realistic advice, and guided me through each step with timely and transparent communication.
At mediation, Teressa’s deep knowledge of the law was clear.
She presented my case confidently and clearly, which led to an outcome I was very happy with.
I’ve already recommended her to friends and would not
hesitate to endorse her to anyone needing expert
legal support.
Teresa is a confident, compassionate and strong advocate
for people needing assistance when you have not received
proper treatment from your employer.
It is a sensitive and frustrating experience that is hard for individuals to
navigate on their own, and Teresa is the answer to that need. She has a huge
heart paired with determination to accomplish the best achievable outcome in your situation.
She speaks truth clearly, which is very important in employment scenarios that have emotions involved. She sees a bigger picture of your personal consequences, and delicately aligns this with reality that is often harsh to deal with.
I am grateful that I had Teresa Brown fighting for me and my
whānau. She clearly understands and embraces he tangata, he tangata, he tangata!
Her support made a real difference to both the process and the outcome.
She has a strong understanding of employment law and explained everything clearly, which made a difficult situation much easier to deal with.
Teresa made sure I felt heard throughout and stood up for me confidently. She was professional, thorough, and committed to achieving a fair result, which gave me confidence at every stage.
Importantly, Teresa showed a genuine understanding and respect for Te Ao Māori and Pasifika principles, reflecting values such as respect, integrity, and a focus on people and relationships. This meant a lot and added real depth to her representation.
Most of all, Teresa approached my case with care and honesty. I would confidently recommend her to anyone needing support with employment matters.
I cannot thank Teresa enough for her
incredible work on my ERA case. Not only did
she secure a winning result, but she was also a
massive source of moral support during
a very stressful time.
Her expertise is matched only by her kindness.
If you need someone who. truly cares and
gets results, Teresa is the one
Teresa was my employment advocate, and she
was exactly what I needed. Professionally, she was sharp, strategic, and knew the law inside out. She handled every detail with precision and secured a fair outcome that gave me dignity in my exit. But what truly set her apart was her compassion.
She didn't just represent me—she held me through the process. She validated my pain, steadied me when I felt broken, and reminded me of my worth when I had forgotten it.
Teresa is the rare advocate who fights fiercely for your rights while caring deeply for your heart. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
